On September 18, 2006, Richard Dwight Beadle went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ.
Richard was born on April 18, 1923 in Cheyenne, Oklahoma. He was an Eagle Scout and after graduating high school was drafted in the Marine Corps. Richard married Virginia Decker in 1943 in Yuma, Arizona just prior to going overseas. He served in World War II and the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1952 as a Tech Sergeant. Richard majored in Engineering, receiving his Bachelor of Science Degree from UCLA in 1958. He worked for Aero Jet General in Azusa, California as an Aeronautical Engineer. Upon retiring, he moved to Santa Barbara County in 1976. He resided in Cuyama until 1999 and finally moved to Santa Maria for his remaining years.
Richard was known for his love for Jesus. He was a member of Grace Bible Church. He was certain that he would spend eternity with Christ and did not depend on what he did or did not do, but what Christ did for him.
He is survived by his wife Virginia L. Beadle of Santa Maria, California, daughter and son-in-law Jan Louise and Jeff Johns of Granite Bay, California, daughter Candice Floyd of Long Beach, California, son Richard I. Beadle of Albuquerque, New Mexico, sister Faye Bowermon of Malakoff, Texas, a nephew and his wife John & Hattie Stoddard of Santa Maria and a niece Cathy Stoddard of Santa Maria, 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, special friends Tim and Sandy Mugg and Richard and Suzie Lee, and his faithful dog Dino.
Graveside services with full military honors will be held Wednesday, September 27, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Gustine, California.
A memorial service will be held Friday, September 29, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Bible Church, 100 Rodeo Drive, Arroyo Grande, California, 93420 with Reverend Joe Bubar officiating.
