Bettie Maud Price was born October 14, 1892 in Delight, Pike County, Arkansas to Elijah Oliver Price and Nancy Elizabeth Love. Bettie was the youngest of eleven children: Charles, Matilda, Lou, William, Rhoda, Ellen, Oden, Elvira, Mary, and James. Bettie's father was a civil war veteran who was born and raised in Alabama and fought for the confederate army. Her mother's lineage had strong Quaker ties leading all the way back to the early settlements of New Jersey.

COLORADO CITY ~~Funeral for Mrs. Betty Maud Green, 77, who died early Tuesday morning in Root Memorial Hospital after a long illness, was to be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Kiker and Son Chapel.
The Reverend Larry Lakey, pastor of the Assembly of God Church was to officiate. Burial was to be in Colorado City Cemetery.
Born in Pike County, Arkansas, October 14, 1891, she had lived in Mitchell County since 1926.
Survivors include five sons, R. C., Ollie and Major Bell, all of Colorado City, Tom Pilkington of Odessa and Charles Pilkington of San Antonio; two daughters, Mrs. L. E. Ward and Mrs. Jimmy L. Bradley, both of Colorado City; a stepson, Buck Pilkington of Winters; two step-daughters, Mrs. Myra O'Rear of Balmorhea and Mrs. Lou Holmes of Littlefield; 44 grandchildren; and 87 great-grandchildren.
