She died in Georgetown, Guyana along with her three children Liane Harris (1956-1978); Martin Lawrence Amos and Christa Amos at the Georgetown headquarters of the People's Temple in Georgetown, Guyana. Linda was born Linda Sharon Silverstein. Linda's maiden name was Linda Sharon Silverstein. Harris and Amos were her two married names. Her father was Lawrence Silverstein Harris and Amos were her married names (first and second marriages). She was better known as Linda Amos, Sharon Amos, or Linda Sharon Harris but she was Sharon Amos in the organization. She lived in Redwood Valley, California 95476 before moving to Jonestown, Guyana where she lived in Cottage 46. She was Jewish, Caucasian Female. She was skilled as a psychologist and Social worker. She entered Guyana on September 13, 1977. She was on the Jonestown Planning Commission; Public relations, and Radio room. Her former husband was Sherwin Harris (father of Liane) who visited his daughter and Sharon at the headquarters for dinner shortly before the massacre. Even though she was known as Linda, her name was changed to Sharon when a Linda defected. Ms. Amos was one of Jim Jones' top lieutenants in the organization. She was with the People's Temple for ten years until her death. Like everyone else in the Jonestown temple she and her children took their own lives. Her parents had predeceased her own grandmother. She had attended San Francisco State College in San Francisco, California where she majored in social work. She lived together in her grandmother's house, Anna Greene, on Buena Vista Hill with her daughter, Liane (born in 1956) who she also cared for. After her Mrs. Greene's death, Sharon joined the People's Temple and lived in Redwood Valley before moving to Jonestown, Guyana. She is survived by her sister, Robin. She was a graduate student at University of California at Berkeley.
