|Death: ||Dec. 21, 1941|
More than 300 persons attended the funeral services last Monday for the four members of the Wood family who were drowned in San Carlos Lake on December 21, when their boat capsized in a heavy wind. Those that died in this tragic accident were Mr. and Mrs. W.R. Wood, their daughter, Lucille, and Mrs. Burt Wood.
On Monday, the Presbyterian Church in Casa Grande was the scene of a deeply moving service conducted by the Rev. Leslie J. Ross, pastor of the Methodist Church and the Rev. Curry H. Love, retired pastor of the Presbyterian Church.
Approximately 75 automobiles were in the long procession that threaded its way slowly to the Mountain View Cemetery, where the Wood family were laid to rest.
Survivors of Mrs. Wood include her daughter Dorothy, of Casa Grande; her brothers, Hubert Detloff, of Willcox, Art Detloff, of Bisbee, and Albert Detloff, of Los Angeles; and a sister, Mrs. Don Briley, of Spokane, Washington.
