|Birth: ||Sep. 4, 1802|
Elizabeth was the daughter of Zaccheus Roberts and Nancy Brashears Roberts of Roane County, TN. Her father was a Revolutionary War Soldier and her mother was from an old and prestigious family of French Hugenots who fled France and came to America because of religious persecution.
Elizabeth married Thomas Nesmith November 29, 1820 in Roane County, TN. Her sister, Nancy Roberts, married Alexander Nesmith, the widowed father of Elizabeth's husband, Thomas. Elizabeth's brother was Isaac Roberts who married Elizabeth Dunaway. These three are the only known siblings to migrate to Alabama out of a family of eleven children born to Zaccheus and Nancy Roberts.
Elizabeth Nesmith's death date is unknown, however, she was still living in the 1850 Morgan County census but has passed away by the 1860 census.
Although no marker can be found for Mrs. Nesmith, her burial place has been accepted as this abandoned cemetery according to Roberts family information that has been handed down through the generations.
