Navyman Baker was the son of Mrs. Abbie (Griggs) Baker and the late Harry Baker of Arlington. Born in Dorset on April 6, 1937, he moved with his parents to Arlington some 15 years ago.
He graduated from Arlington High School, Class of '55 and joined the U.S. Navy immediately following graduation.
He leaves in addition to his mother, two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Douglas of Springfield, Vt., and Mrs. Edna Wyman of Troy, N.Y.; and two brothers, Harry Baker Jr. of Dorset and Gardner Baker of Jamaica, Vt.
Friends may call at the Baker residence this evening and Tuesday. Funeral services will be held from the Federated Church in East Arlington at 2 pm Wednesday. The Rev. Kenneth McCrea will officiate.
Entombment will be in Arlington and burial will take place later in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Dorset.
