Karen L. Blystone
Karen L. Blystone, 56, of Vandergrift, died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008, at her daughter's home. She was born Sept. 20, 1952, in Hendricks, W.Va., daughter of the late Pastor J. Grant and Ethel Lelia (Eshbaugh) Lickenfelt. She lived in Vandergrift all of her life.
She worked for Allegheny Ludlum for 16 years as a laborer, retiring in 2008. She occasionally worshiped at the Free Methodist Church of Apollo. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Professional Services from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, where she was honored as a member of the Golden Key National Honors Society for academic excellence.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her daughter, Amy L. (David J.) Gasbarro; granddaughters, Paige Gasbarro and Jenna Gasbarro, all of Vandergrift; brother, Jacob G. (Linda) Lickenfelt, of New Kensington; sister, E. Virginia (William) Terry, of Ford City; loving companion of 15 years, Dennis M. Johnson, of Baden; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the CURRAN-SHAFFER FUNERAL HOME, Apollo, PA. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in the funeral home with the Rev. Darrell Carney officiating.
Interment will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
