Alfred F. Bushee of 332 School St., Bennington, a linotype machine operator for the Banner for 41 years, died this morning at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington after a long illness. He was 80.
Born Aug 19, 1895 in Wallinford to George P and Mary (Trombley) Bushee, he received his education in the Wallingford schools and was a Veteran of the First World War. He belonged to American Legion Post 13 and was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church.
Besides his widow, the former Louise P. Pellerin, whom he married June 5, 1922 at Sacred Heart Church; he leaves a son, Edmond A. of Bennington; four daughters, Mrs. Virginia Briggs and Mrs. Elaine Hirkland, both of North Adams, Mass., Mrs. Louise Hollister and Mrs. Annette Morrissey, both of Bennington; 15 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
There are no calling hours at the Nahar & Son Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
The funeral will be held at 10 am Tuesday at Sacred Heart Church, where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered.
A prayer service at the funeral home at 9:30 wil precede the funeral Mass.
Burial will follow in the family plot in Park Lawn Cemetery, Bennington.
Memorial contributions to the Bennington Rescue Squad through the funeral home office have been suggested by the family.
