SHAFTSBURY - Clement David Greene Jr., 80, died June 13, 2011, at his home.
He was born in Shaftsbury, May 22, 1931, the son of Clement Sr. and Emily (Rice) Greene, and received his education in local schools.
He served with the 8th Armored Division in the U.S. Army stationed in Seoul, Korea.
Mr. Greene married the former Marilyn Green in Shaftsbury on March 6, 1954.
He retired from Stanley Tool Co. in Shaftsbury, where he was employed for 23 years. He previously worked at McCollough Farms, Hale Co. and Paper Mill Village.
He was a member of Shaftsbury Fire Department and American Legion Post #13 of Bennington.
Mr. Greene enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife; six children, Wanda Ellis, Crystal Sandquist, Michael Sr., Kevin, all of Shaftsbury, Elaine Geoffroy of Lowell and Timothy of North Bennington; 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; five siblings, Buelah Mattison, Arthur, Douglas, Richard, all of Shaftsbury, and Jenny Bishop of Woodford; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by a brother, Myron Sr., and a granddaughter.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 17, at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St., Bennington, with Kenneth Coonradt, chaplain of Vermont Veterans Home, officiating.
Burial with full military honors will be in Center Shaftsbury Cemetery.
Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 16, at the funeral home.
