The Hero I Never Met: Uncle William, I regret that never got to meet you in person. You paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom before I was born. I do feel that I know you through the stories and pictures that Grandma Nora and Annie, Deloris (your sisters, my aunts) and Linda (your sister, my mother) shared with our generation. Your family is doing well and you would be very proud of your children and two grandsons. Just know that our family couldn't be prouder for your military service. I know you are in heaven and I will get to meet you when Jesus calls all the saints home. Love, Your Nephew, CDR Joe Torian, United States Navy. Joseph Torian, [email protected], Nephew, 4304 Spruce Knob Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23456.
I was a little girl when you went away, now I am all grown up and still feel your loss. Time help us to move on but we will never forget you and stop missing you. I thank God for the brief time of knowing you because it has lasted a life time. Theresa Melvin-Parker, Cousin, Durham NC
