US Air Force MSGT James Walter Crider, Korean War Veteran, Vietnam War Veteran, Native of Hickory NC.

US Air Force Master Sergeant James Walter Crider was a casualty of the Vietnam War. As a member of the Air Force, MSGT Crider served our country until June 24th, 1970 in Darlac, South Vietnam. He was 39 years old and was married. It was reported that James died from illness or disease. His body was recovered. MSGT Crider is on panel 09W, line 088 of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. He served His Country for over 18 years.

He is the Son of Mr. George Washington Crider and Mrs Beulah Burns Crider; Brother to Harold, Ralph, Rachel, George, Mildred, Gerald Crider, Edward and Claude.

He served with the 619th Tactical Control Squadron, 505th Tactical Control Group, 7th Air Force.

He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal with One Device, The Air Force Good Conduct Medal(s), The Vietnam Campaign Medal, The Vietnam Service Medal(s), The Air Force Commendation Medal with One Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with "V" Device for Valor, Korean Defense Medal, Korean Service Medal, Republic Of Korea War Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and The US Air Force Longevity Medal(s).
