Heidi was born July 7, 1967 in Ogden, Utah. She attended Clearfield High School, graduating in 1985.
In 1988 she married R. Heath Hills, the father of her two daughters, Whitney Nicole and Brooke Taylor. They later divorced and she married Eric Nelson on March 9, 2001.
Heidi spent her career with the U.S. Government, working for the Internal Revenue Service, Bureau of Reclamation and the National Weather Service.
In addition to her career, Heidi enjoyed traveling, especially taking trips to her in-law's cabin in Red Lodge, MT. Family events were always special occasions to Heidi. She read voraciously and could seldom be found without a book. She also loved music and movies. From skiing to golf, she tried everything once, sometimes twice.
One of her happiest moments came in Oct., 2005, when she finally became an aunt. But Heidi loved nothing more than shopping, with her girls. She spent her life entertaining others with her unique sense of humor, gracefully laced with a hint of sarcasm. This quality remained with her, even in her final days, making life a little easier for us.
Heidi is survived by many family members including her two daughters Whitney and Brooke, and step-children Erica and Marcus; husband Eric, Stansbury Park; Mother and Dad Mary and Bob Joynt, Clearfield, UT; Father and Step-mother Thomas R. Fugate and Peggy Jepson, Thayne, WY; her brother, her sister-in-law and her niece, Justin, Samantha and Hannah Fugate, Ogden, and stepsister, Jennifer Jepson of Parker CO. She was preceded in death by her grandparents. The family would like to express their thanks to the staff at Utah Cancer Specialists and Vista Care Hospice, especially Erica Dixon and Jennifer Hammargren for their efforts, support and kind words.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2006 at 2 p.m. at the Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Road. Friends and family may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 12:45 to 1:45 prior to the service. Interment, Lindquist's Memorial Park at Layton.
