Funeral services for August Kappelman were held in the Christian Church Tuesday, Dec. 20, at 1:30 p.m. Burial was at Bonesteel.
August Kappelman was born near Joliet, Ill., July 12 1879, and passed away at St. Mary's hospital at Pierre S.D., Dec. 17, 1949, from a heart ailment.
He came with his parents to homestead near Bonesteel in 1890. He was united in marriage to Josie Mary Hysell on December 15, 1904. Five children were born to this union, two boys and three girls. In 1927 they came to Winner, where they have made their home since.
Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Josie Kappelman, one son C. H. Kappelman of Ogden, Utah, three daughters, Mrs. Ray Alloway, Ord, Nebr, Mrs. Anton Rehak and Mrs. Ray Anthony, of Winner, one brother Charles Kappelman, Burkton, Nebr, three sisters, Mrs. C. J. Beach, Mrs. Edna Burke and Mrs. Martha Buck all of Redonda Beach, Calif, thirteen grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
His son, William, mother, father, two sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.
