Mrs. Mettie Eliza Davis Jourdan, 87, died Tuesday, August 24, 1976, in the Tishomingo County Hospital after three years of failing health.

Services were Wednesday, August 25, in New Lebanon Church with burial in the church cemetery. Bro. Sharp and Bro. Rinehart officiated. She was a housewife and a Methodist.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Claud Jourdan and four sons, Alton, Carmon, Charlie and Hollis Jourdan and two daughters, Hattie and Mauvaline Jourdan.

Survivors include three sons, Owen Jourdan, Tishomingo, Talbert Jourdan, Collierville, Tn., Ottis Jourdan, Arnett, W. Va.; three daughters, Mrs. Ola Holder of the home, Mrs. Waurine Elliott of Cairo, Mrs. Iona Barnes of Millington, Tn.; one brother, Journance Davis, Amory; five sisters, Mrs. Cora Pate, Tupelo, Mrs. Edith Walden, Tupelo, Mrs. Alma Tennison, Sheffield, Ala., Mrs. Nola Palmer of Booneville and one sister Eunice, of Tacoma, Wash.; 30 grandchildren; 50 great grandchildren; 5 great great-grandchildren.
