PORT LAVACA – Henry Charles Slaughter, 54, of Port Lavaca died Thursday[, Jan. 30, 1969,] at 6 a.m. at the local hospital following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday[, Feb. 1,] at Richardson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. L. B. Akins, pastor of Alamo Heights Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in the Port Lavaca Cemetery.
Mr. Slaughter, a farmer, was born June 20, 1914[*], in Jackson County, the son of the late [Almond] and Zora Lookingbill [Slaughter]. He had lived here since 1942, coming from Jackson County.
He was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ila of Port Lavaca; two brothers, Lamar of Cleveland[, Texas,] and Lavall of Angleton; a sister, Mrs. Lena Mae [Hutcheson] of Angleton, and six nieces and six nephews.
Pallbearers will be George Bouquet, J. P. Darnell, Louis Wayne Neil, L. D. Schroeder, Robert Slaughter and L. A. Peterson.
