FAIRBANKS - Lucile S. Carrithers, 88, of Fairbanks died at 8:40 p.m. Friday, Dec. 24, 1999, in Sullivan Health & Living Center Inc.
She was retired a teacher, having taught in schools in Fairbanks, Farmersburg and Shelburn.
She was born Nov. 11, 1911, in Fairbanks Township to Edgar Strain and Mae McKinney Strain.
Survivors include her husband, Garland J. Carrithers of Farmersburg; one son, Daniel J. Carrithers of Grapevine, Texas; one grandson, Toller Daniel Carrithers of Grapevine; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Laurens Strain and Theodore Strain; and one sister, Maxine Riggs.
She was a 50 year member of Chapter 188 Order of Eastern Strar.
Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday in DeBaun Springhill Chapel in Terre Haute, with the Rev. Don Ransford officiating. Burial is in Pogue Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
