Mildred Roberts Eschler, 89, passed away on January 19, 2011 at Emeritus Assisted Living Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, after a lifelong medical condition.
She was the sixth of eleven children born in Sugar City, Idaho to Prentiss Roberts and Henrietta Furniss on September 3, 1921. She grew up in Sugar City. She married Carl Eschler in 1943.
After World War II, they moved to San Francisco, California, where he had an uncle. In 1952, they moved to Daly City, California, where she lived until 2000 when she moved to Salt Lake to be closer to family.
She was an inactive member of the LDS Church, but active in Primary when her children were younger. Every year she spent many hours sewing men's pants for the stake welfare project. She loved to sew and do needlework. Her greatest joy was her family and she especially loved the little children.
She is survived by daughters Kathleen LaCombe (Phillip) of Salt Lake City; and Sandra Lee Nazzaro (Joe) of Dallas, Texas; and son Frederick Carl Eschler (Laura) of Coquille, Oregon. She has ten grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren, who she loved dearly. Preceded in death by her husband, Carl; her parents; all of her siblings; and one granddaughter, Elizabeth Eschler.
Funeral and interment will be held at a later date in Rigby, Idaho, where she will be buried next to her husband.
