Opal D. Lamb
Mrs. Claude C. Lamb, formerly of 810 Union St., died Tuesday evening in the Flint Hills Manor Nursing Home, where she had lived for the past 2 1/2 years.
Mrs. Lamb had lived most of her life in Americus and moved to Emporia in 1973. In Americus, she had been employed at Marlow Woodcuts and was an operator for the Americus Telephone Company until her retirement in 1960.
Memorial contributions to the Home Monitor System of Newman Memorial County Hospital may be sent in care of the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral home, which is in charge of arrangements. Time of services will be announced Thursday.
Opal D. Lamb, daughter of Clarence A. and Clara Hicks Finuf, was born Sept. 8, 1901 in Oklahoma territory. She married Claude C. Lamb on March 6, 1925 in Burlington. Mr. Lamb died in 1971.
She is survived by one son, Leslie W. Lamb of Wichita; two daughters, Clara R. Read, 329 Garfield St., and Jean Lemen of Blue Springs, Mo.; two sisters, Elsie Dietrich of Emporia and Esther Crook of Kerrville, Tex.; eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Mrs. Lamb also was preceded in death by one son, John F. Lamb Sr.; one grandson Johnny Ray Lamb, and two brothers, Ivan and Lloyd Finuf.
She was a member of the West side Baptist Church and the Up-To-Date Study Club in Americus.

Korah Lamb and Miss Opal Finuf motored to Burlington last Thursday where they were married. After the wedding they went to Elsmore, Kan., where they visited Mr. and Mrs. Otho Lamb and family returning to Americus the first of the week.
The bride is the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Finuf and has made her home in Americus since early childhood. She is a graduate of the Americus High School and has many friends and acquaintances.
The groom is the youngest son of A.C. Lamb. He has lived in Americus all his life. He is a verteran of the late war and was stationed overseas for some time after the close of the war.
Mr. and Mrs. Lamb have taken up their residence on a farm about seven miles northeast of Americus where their friends tendered them the customary charivari Monday night and wished them a prosperous and happy married life.
