Otho Perry Lamb died in the M.K.T. Railroad Hospital in Parsons Saturday evening after a long illness.
He was born Sept. 2, 1887, on a farm near Americus, the son of the late Cyrus and Ruth Lamb. He spent his boyhood days in that community. He was married to Louise Proehl on Dec. 26, 1910.
He began work for the railroad when 18 years of age and was employed as agent-telegrapher until 1951 because of poor health. The family moved to Elsmore, KS. in August 1924.
He was a member of the Elsmore Methodist Church, the Savonburg Masonic Lodge No. 315, the Scottish Rite Constistory at Fort Scott and the Order of Railroad Telegraphers.
Surviving are his wife; two sons; Elmo Lamb, Yale, Ok., Otho P. Lamb, Jr., Elsmore, Ks.; a daughter, Mrs. Curtis Nystrom, Cawker City, Ks.; five grandchildren; two brothers, Clarence Lamb, Emporia, and Claude Lamb, Americus; a sister, Mrs. Lottie Brasier, Americus; and several nieces and nephews. A daughter, Pauline Ruth Lamb died in 1919.
The funeral service will be held in the Elsmore Methodist Church Tuesday at 2 p.m. the Rev. Monte Mitchell, pastor of the church, will officiate. The Masonic Lodge will conduct graveside service. Burial will be in Elsmore Cemetery. The Ralston Funeral Home in Moran is in charge.
