Martha was a daughter of James and Ursula/Ursley Grant. She married Moses Locke Alsup, 27 Jan 1834, Madison Co, TN. They lived in Hardeman Co, TN., Greene Co, MO and Tippah Co. MS before finally settling in Douglas Co, MO., where they spent their remaining years. They also made an overland trip to CA. in the late 1850's but soon returned to MO.
