Mrs. Louisa L. Jones, an old and highly respected resident of Waseca county, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. F. E. Brossard, at McGrath, Thursday, January 19th, 1933.

She had been in ill health for some time and was confined to her bed for several months suffering with a complication of diseases resulting from old age. The body was brought to Waseca, accompanied by Mrs. Brossard, and was taken out to the home of her son, George Jones in Iosco township, Saturday afternoon from which place the funeral services were held Monday morning, at 10 o'clock, with Dr. W. I. Kern pastor the the Methodist church officiating.

Burial was made in Woodville cemetery. George Fell, S. E. Ballard, Joseph Larson, James Iverson, George Oestreich and Wm. Thompson were pall bearers.

The deceased was born in Lennox, Massachusetts, on November 23, 1844, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Augustus Brossard, who came to Minnesota and settled in Iosco township, when she was a child. Her marriage to Louis La Fayette took place in 1859. Two children, Edgar and Minnie were born of this union. Mr. La Fayette died when the children were very small, and in 1864 she was united in marriage with James E. Jones. Nine children were born to them, six of whom are living, namely: George Jones, of Iosco township; Mrs. W. I. Ballard of Seattle, Wash., Frank, Roy and Fayette, of Hinsdale, Montana and Mrs. F. E. Brossard of McGrath, with whom Mrs. Jones had made her home for the past three years.

Besides her children she is survived by one brother, Joseph Brossard, who resides in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and one sister, Mrs. D. T. Ballard of Spokane, Wash. She also leaves 31 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.

Mrs. Jones spent her life from childhood in Waseca county with the exception of twelve years which she spent in the west. She was a member of Rebekah lodge and of the Relief Corps and took an active interest in these organizations in earlier years.
