Robert J. LaChance 56 of Charlevoix, died Thursday Nov. 9, 2000 at his home.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today Monday Nov. 13 at the Lintz Funeral Home in Indian River. The Rev. Glenn Brown will officiate. Burial will take place in Oakhill Cemetery, Indian River.
Robert was born July 28, 1944 in Charlevoix the son of Robert and Leslie (Dagwell) laChance. He grew up in Indian River, then moved to Detroit with his family where he attended school.
Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during the Vietnam War.
On Feb 26, 1982 he married Janet Cole in Petoskey. the couple made their home in Charlevoix.
Bob was emplo;ed as a laser welder at Honeywell in Boyne City.
He enjoyed reading and finding a good deal at a store or garage sale.
He was a member of the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Janet' daughter, Dawn Rene LaChance; mother Leslie LaChance of Cheboygan;brother Clayton LaChance of Petoskey; sister, Denise King and her husband Bernie, of Cincinnati, Ohio and Lindsay LaChance of Indian River; father-&-mother-in-law , Jim and Josephine Cole of Bay Shore; sister-in-law Judy Leaman and her husband Dave and their children Lacey and Brandon; Uncle Jim Dagwell and his wife Mary; and nieces, Emily and Lisa King.
