Harry Coblentz, 93, of Whispering Pines Village, passed away 2:45 a.m. Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at Parkside Health Care Center following a recent stroke.
Harry was born August 22, 1914 in Enon Valley, Pa., a son of the late Hugh E. and Rosa A. Toot Coblentz and had been a life resident of the East Palestine area. He was a small grain and potato farmer.
Harry was a former member of the Monday Night Card Club; Unity Grange; Columbiana County Farm Bureau; and the Unity School Board.
He and his wife, the former Ethel D. Hough, whom he married on August 27, 1938, recently celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Wilbur (Geralyn) Coblentz, East Palestine, and Ralph (Jean) Coblentz, Columbiana; and two daughters, Carol (Neil) Lippincott, Minerva and Janice Ice, East Liverpool. He is also survived by five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Goldie Coblentz, Esther Foster and Gladys Foster.
Friends will be received at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Sunday. The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 22nd, at the funeral home with Pastor Kenneth G. Hacker of the St. John's Lutheran Church of Petersburg officiating. Burial will follow in Petersburg Cemetery.
