Last Friday afternoon, about 1 o'clock, Mr. Zach Samuels, who was known to a great many people in Adair county, died at his late home near Glenville. In the war of the rebellion he served in the Federal army, 13th Kentucky Infantry, Capt. O.B. Patteson's company. He was seventy-nine years old the 30th of last April, he was born in Rockcastle county, but his life, from his infancy, was spent in Adair county. He was a zealous Mason, member of Glensfork Lodge, and was buried with the usual formalities of the order. As a soldier, he was valiant, as a citizen, upright in all his transactions. His many friends will regret to hear of his passing.
