|Birth: ||Feb. 2, 1843|
|Death: ||Apr. 28, 1911|
Last Friday evening at 8 o'clock, Mr. Henry Todd, whose illness was frequently mentioned in this paper, passed beyond the veil. The end came at the home of his brother, Mr. A.G. Todd, this city, after having been confined to his bed for several weeks. The deceased was a son of Wm. Todd, who died many years ago, and was born and reared in Adair county, a few miles north-west of Columbia.
When the civil war broke out he espoused the cause of the Union, entered the Federal army, and was a gallant soldier until hostilities ceased. When the war closed, he returned home and engaged in farming, which pursuit he followed until four years ago when he came to this place and secured a room at the Columbia Hotel, where he resided until he was removed to his brother's home three or four weeks ago.
The deceased was never married; was sixty-eight years old the 2nd of last February. During his whole life he was a quiet unassuming man, having a good word to say to every person he met, hence he had many friends, all of whom will regret to learn that he has crossed over the dark river of Death. The funeral services were held Saturday afternoon and the interment was in the Murray Graveyard. There were many relatives and friends present. Peace to his memory. Besides the brother mentioned above he leaves another brother, Mr. J.D. Todd, and one sister.
