Mildred R. Gallant, 94, of Fostoria passed away at 5:50 p.m. on Monday, December 23, 2013 at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay. She was born on April 30, 1919, to the late Charles M. and Julia A. (Anderson) Schwab in Redfield, AR. She married Robert H. Gallant on August 27, 1938, and he preceded her in death on May 30, 2006. Mildred is survived by her son, Gaylan F. Gallant of Fostoria; daughters: Nila (Larry) Philipps of rural Fostoria and Sharon (Roy) Gonia of Liberty-Center, OH; nine grandchildren: Stephanie Gault, Jennifer Sowders, Allison Philipps, Megan Ware, Matthew Gallant, Jessica Gallant, Kelly Javorek, Chris Gonia, and Tracy Gonia; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Sherry Gallant; brothers: Charles, Jim, Paul, and Francis Schwab; and by sisters: Pearl Cranmer and Mary Edwards. Mildred was a homemaker and member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria. She was also a life member of the Humane Society, member of the Hancock County Historical Society, and member of A.A.R.P. in both Big Pine Key and Nationally. Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 27, 2013 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria. Father Nicholas Weibl will be celebrant and burial will follow in Knollcrest Cemetery, east of Findlay. Memorials may be made to St. Wendelin Catholic Church, The American Cancer Society, and/or Bridge Home Health and Hospice. Online condolences may be made via www.coldrencrates.com.
