Carlos was the son of Ziola M. Lagomarsino of San Francisco CA and Jose H. Izquierdo of Guatemala City, Guatamala, enlisted in the US Marine Corps on December 27, 1968 in Oakland CA. He arrived in Vietnam on June 27, 1969 and was assigned to Company A, 1st Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st MARDIV (Rein) FMF.
During an Battalion operation in the "Arizona Territory" PFC Baldizon left the Company perimeter near the village of Dai Khuong, in Duc Duc District. On his return, a sentry hearing movement near his position, mistook Baldizon for an enemy intruder and opened fire. PFC Baldizon was hit and died as a result of friendly small arms fire.
