Mrs. Julia M. Chantos
Georgetown (CNS) - Mrs. Julia Marie Chantos, 72, of 400 W. Eleventh, was dead on arrival at 2:30 p.m. Monday (Jan. 8, 1973) at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville.
Born April 27, 1900, in Austria-Hungary, she was the daughter of John and Mary Gregor Kochvar. She was married in October of 1917, to Andrew Charnisky, who died in 1928. She was then married on Nov. 5, 1938, to Joseph Chantos, who died May 1, 1959.
She was a life member of St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church in Georgetown and its Altar Rosary Society and the Slovak Lodge of Westville.
Survivors include five daughters, Miss Mary Chantos of West New York, Mrs. Anna Janosik, Mrs. Madeline Howard and Mrs. Helen Barton, all of Westville, and Mrs. Julia Klaman of Oakwood; two sons, Andrew Charnisky of Danville and Joseph Chantos of Sullivent, Ala.; a sister, Mrs. Mary Hill of Champaign; three brothers, John Kochvar of Westville, George Kochvar of Michigan City, Ind. and Joseph Kochvar of Rantoul; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
A brother preceded her in death.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church, with the Rev. Anthony Liss officiating. Burial will be in Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Westville.
Visitation will be at the Houghton Funeral Home from 7-9 Tuesday and 2-9 Wednesday. Rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
