Alfred Anthony Goniwiecha, a resident of Washington Township, Michigan, formerly a 35-year resident of Center Line, Michigan, entered eternal life on Thursday February 18, 2010, at his residence. He was 89 years old.
Alfred was a World War II Navy veteran and a retired supervisor of automotive parts. He was a member of VFW Post 6782-E. Detroit.
Alfred enjoyed being outside fishing, hunting, gardening, and appreciating nature. He also was a bowler and an American car enthusiast.
He is survived by his children, Thomas (Judy), Lawrence (Ana), Alan (Dolores), Joel, Susan (Jonathan) Sanders, Mark (Pakawn), Steven (Diane), Marcia (Gary) Lange, James (Gail), Nancy (Gil) Bourgeois, Robert (Kelly), Julie Yancy, Jon (Yeon), Ruth (Eric) Yerkes, Janice (Mike) Morefield and Lorene (Jeffrey) Kline; 34 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; sister, Sylvia Hock.
He was predeceased by his wife, Rita, and brother, Cletus.
Visitation Saturday February 20, 2010 from 5-9 p.m. and Sunday February 21, 2010 from 2-9 p.m. with a 5 p.m. Scripture/rosary at Ford Funeral Home, 26560 Van Dyke, Center Line. Additional visitation Monday at church at 9:30 a.m.
Funeral Mass: Monday, February 22, at 10 a.m. at St. Clement Church, Center Line with Rev. David Buers-Meyer officiating.
Burial: St. Clement Cemetery with military honors. Memorial contributions appreciated to Henry Ford Hospice or Hospitalized Veterans.
