Judy was born on December 6, 1943 in Portland, Oregon to Durde Earlington and Otta Mae (McMinn) Tidmore. Judy and her family moved to Mangum in 1944. She grew up and attended school in Mangum and was a proud member of the Mangum High School Class of 1962. While in school, Judy participated in Sub-debs, FHA and pep club. She went to school at Southwestern Oklahoma State College in Weatherford, Oklahoma for a short time before moving back to Mangum in the mid 1960’s and opening up her own business called the Flower Basket. Judy moved to Oklahoma City and worked at the Oklahoma Blood Bank and as an apartment manager before getting a job in the front office of a nursing home. Judy received her licensure from the University of Oklahoma in Nursing Home Administration and moved back to Mangum in 1980 to start working at Grace Nursing Home as their Administrator. Judy owned and operated a tea room in Mangum called Judy’s Cottage for many years and worked at Mildred’s Flowers and the Red Door prior to going to work for the Oklahoma Department of Human Services in June of 2015. Judy loved the Oklahoma Sooners and the Mangum Tigers. She was very active in her community and served on several boards such as the Mangum Beautification Committee, Mangum Main Street, Mangum High School Alumni and was a member of the First Methodist Church in Mangum. In her free time, Judy enjoyed painting, flower gardening and decorating but she loved cheering and yelling for the Sooners and the Tigers and spending time with her close family and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Billy Joe Tidmore, Judy is survived by one sister-in-law, Sara (Beck) Tidmore-Lockerd and husband Jim of Oklahoma City; one niece, Tamara “Tammy” Tidmore Caudle and husband John of Colleyville, Texas; two great nephews, Christian Caudle of Ft. Benning, Georgia and Cameron Caudle of College Station, Texas; one aunt, Minnie Grace Tidmore-McGovern and husband Vince of Roseburg, Oregon and numerous cousins, Sylvia, Kenneth, Sherman, Janet, Larry, James and Herman along with many more relatives and close family friends.
