Mrs. C.E. Thompson.
Mrs. Edith Clement Thompson, wife of C.E. Thompson, and a well known resident of Freeport for the past eighteen years, passed away at a local hospital about 10:15 o'clock this morning. Mrs. Thompson had been ill for the past several weeks and although it was known that her condition was critical her passing came as a shock to her devoted husband and many friends.
Funeral services will be conducted from the family home, 1515 West Lincoln boulevard, at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon. Dr. D.L. McNary, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, will conduct the services and interment will be made at Oakland.
Edith Clement was born in Bureau county, Ill., Aug. 23, 1862, a daughter of Gilbert and Lucy B. Clement. She was united in marriage to C.E. Thompson, March 17, 1885. They resided in Chicago for a period of twenty years later residing in San Francisco and Boston. From the latter city, they moved to Freeport. Her husband, who survives, is president of the Structo Manufacturing Company of Freeport. She also leaves a brother-in-law, John McCulloch, Orlando, Fla."
