Isaac David Arnold was one of the many sons of John Humphries Arnold and grandsons of Lt. John A. Arnold (via 1st(?) wife Jane Humphries). His mother, Mary Jane Holmes Arnold, was John H. Arnold's 4th and last wife.

Isaac D. Arnold was the Justice of the Peace for Prince Georges County, Maryland for 22 years. He was also a shoe salesman with the William Hahn Company.

His first wife, Margaret Elvira Hayes (m. in 1890), gave him three children before passing away in 1897. They were Charles Vernon Arnold, David Kern Arnold and Edna Hayes Arnold Boteler Dorland Pearce.

His brother, William Edmund Arnold, married Margaret's sister, Louisa Emma Hayes, in 1892.

Isaac's second wife, Julia Asbury Dishman (m. 1902), gave him two more children: Ralph Madison Arnold and Julia Calvert Arnold Clews.
