Olympic Athlete. Prior to becoming a professional wrestler, he was a renowned Judo fighter, winning a bronze medal for the United States at the 1976 Montreal Summer Games. He was the first African-American to ever win a medal in Judo at the Olympic Games, and remains the only American to win an Olympic medal in Judo's heavyweight division. After the Olympics, he went on as a six-time National Champion and two-time gold medal Pan American Games champion. He later moved to Japan and wrestled professionally under the name "Buffalo Coage". He also wrestled for the World Wrestling Federation and Canada's Stampede Wrestling, known to fans as "Bad News Brown" or "Bad News Allen". He continued to tour and wrestle until retiring in 1998.
