Signa "Gramma Peru" Erb, 102, of Peru died at 1:25 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2008 in St. Margaret's Hospital, Spring Valley. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the Mueller Funeral Home, Peru. Rev. Chris Surber of First Congregational Church of Peru will officiate. Burial will be in the Peru City Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Mrs. Erb was born August 22, 1905 in Manchester, New Hampshire to Nels and Emma Sophia (Swanson) Nelson. She married Arthur Paul Erb on July 2, 1929 in Lawrenceville, Illinois. She was a graduate of Brown's Business College. She was a secretary for Westclox Advertising Department and later worked at Spring Valley Garment Co. She was a member of First Congregational Church of Peru. She is survived by 1 daughter, Jean Lorenzini of Spring Valley; 2 grandchildren, Lynda (Art) Hanson of Spring Valley, and Ted (Glenda) Lorenzini of Belvedere; 6 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband on July 9, 1991; a great granddaughter; and 1 brother, Oscar Nelson.
