[He was a 1765 graduate of Yale College. He served as town clerk of Milford for 34 years, from 1775 to his death, held a commission as Justice of the Peace from May, 1775, and was one of the Judges of the County Court from 1785 until his death. He was also sent as Representative to the General Assembly at thirty sessions between 1777 and 1796, and was a member of the State Convention for ratifying the United States Constitution in 1788.]
