| Birth: | May 6, 1819 Walton County Georgia, USA | | Death: | Dec. 22, 1889 Arbacoochee Cleburne County Alabama, USA |  4th child of William and Catherine (Phillips) Denson. He married Juliann Jones in Walton County GA on 13 October 1838, to which there were nine children born to this union (see family links below). He enlisted to fight the Indians in 1837 for three months, after which he was married to Juliann Jones. About 1844, he and his family moved from Georgia to Arbacoochee, in present day Cleburne County AL. He settled on some land where gold was occasionally found (gold was first discovered in that part of Alabama in 1830) and he spent time searching for gold as well as some limited farming and preaching in the Methodist faith. During the Civil War, he joined the Alabama Home Guards. In 1886, he applied for a pension for his service in the Indian War but he died before the claim could be processed.
