DEATH OF DR DONALDSON

Dr.Nelson F.Donaldson died at his home in this city at 10:15 Wednesday night of locomoter ataxia,a disease with which he had been troubled for thirteen years and which followed an attaek of diphtheria. During these years he suffered much from tha disease, on several occasions the attacks were so severe as to confine him to bed for several weeks and place his life in jeopardy. For two or three years past the Doctor's condition had Gradually grown worse, and about two week's ago he had an unusually severe attack, and though he maintained his courage his constitution was too weakened to withstand the strain, and he died in the agony, of excruciating pain. It cast a gloom of sadness over all citizens, for Dr. Donaldson was a man highly esteemed by all,and we believe, had not an enemy. His kindly disposition, his courteousness to all, and his ever pleasant smile and ever kind word won him the friendship of every acquaintance. Uknowing the intense pain the Doctor almost constantly suffered,it was a source of surprise to his friends that he could maintain his pleasant attitude and genial disposition; for it nearly always happens that when the body is in pain the disposition is ruffled; but such was not the case with the Doctor. As a practioner he was very successful and his kindly words and cheerful disposition ever had a wholesome effect upon his patients. Dr. Donaldson was a true man; a man who we all esteemed; a man who we all will miss; the world was made bettor by reason of him living. He leaves a wife to mourn the loss of a kind, true and ever devoted husband, and to her the sympathy of our people go forth in this her hour of great sorrow. The funeral was held this afternoon from the Epsicopal church. Nelson F.Donaldson
was born in Youngstown, Ohio, Jan 23, 1847.His parents moved to Greensville, Pa., When he was a young boy, where he remained until 1865 when he took his first degree in the Buffalo(N.Y.)Medival College. Shortly thereafter he came west and located at Ida Grove, Iowa. While located at that place he became acquainted with his wife, Elizabeth Little, who was attending school at that place. Later the couple removed to Omaha, where they remained until August, 1880, when they removed to North Platte, and have since resided here.
