He was born Nov. 29, 1909, in Friend to Henry and Katherine Volz Eurich. Roy was raised in Saline County and graduated from Friend High School in 1928. Roy graduated from the University of Nebraska dental school in 1934 before starting his dental practice at North Platte in 1934. Roy served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Following his discharge, he returned to North Platte, where he had lived since.
On Dec. 2, 1963, he married J. Elcyne Haught in Ogallala. Roy retired from dentistry in 1989. Mr. Eurich was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a lifetime member of Benevolent Protective Order of Elks Lodge 985, the P.R. Halligan Post 163 of the American Legion, and a lifetime member of the American Dental Association.Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Liedke of Kailua, Hawaii, and Mary Eurich of Colorado Springs; two stepsons, Jerry (Kay) Bodeen of North Platte and Ronald (Molly) Bodeen of San Diego; and four grandchildren, Douglas and Dawn Dinger, both of Colorado Springs, Kelli Barnes of Phoenix and Wally Liedke of Seattle; and five step-grandchildren, Gary Bodeen of North Platte, Dr. Cheryl Roth of Kearney, Rhonda (Lemoyne) Dailey of Ainsworth, Debbie Bodeen of Escondido, Calif., and Toni (Jack) Coffman of Largo, Fla. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife on Sept. 30, 1991; five brothers; and two sisters. Memorials are suggested to the Elks Scholarship Fund or the donor's choice. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Adams & Swanson Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Charles Spence officiating. Burial will be at North Platte Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 6 p.m. today and from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home.
