During his long stage career, he was best-known for his role as 'Jim Hacker' in the witty 1980s satirical television series “Yes Minister,” and its sequel, “Yes Prime Minister.” Margaret Thatcher was a fan, though Eddington’s own political views were rather different from hers, as he was a Quaker and pacifist.
