He was the son of Michael J Slattery and Mary B Dwyer.

He entered the service from Providence County, RI.

He was lost when B-17G #42-31219 crashed over Lake Melville, 30 miles north of Goose Bay, Newfoundland-Labrador, Canada when en route upon deployment to Rattlesden Air Base, England.

The crew is listed here in the virtual cemetery for B-17G #42-31219. All but one of the crew, Sgt Lorenz A Kirchoff, is believed to have been recovered.
