Frank Bell was born June 2, 1916, in Fort Worth. He graduated from what is now R. L. Paschal High School and attended the University of Texas at Arlington. During World War II, he served in the Merchant Marines and received the Atlantic-Pacific and Philippine Liberation ribbons. He married his California sweetheart, Marie Bloom, on Dec. 16, 1945.
A salesman by profession, Frank was inducted into "The Hall of Fame" of the Chevrolet Motor Division. Being an athlete and avid sports enthusiast, his greatest joy in retirement was promoting T.C.U. football through the Frog Club. He was chosen "Mr. Purple" in 1993.
A life-long member of the First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth, Frank served on the usher and plate committees as well as the Administrative Board.
Survivors: Sister, Betty Bell Ambrose and her husband, Joe, Fort Worth; nieces and nephews, Angela Cochran and her husband, Fielding, Jody Ambrose and his wife, Patti, and Kathe Goodwin and her husband, Steve; and many loving great nieces and great nephews.
