Fannie was born 9 June 1955 to Susan Lee Easterwood Fletcher and William Washington Easterwood. Her father who died in Clark Township, Johnson county, Arkansas serving as a town militiaman.

She married William Alphonzo Barton on 5 Oct 1854 in Silver City, Owyhee county, Idaho. To this union were born 8 children: Emily May, Osia Ola, William Albert (died young in Lodgepole, Nebraska), Addie, Ralph Willard, Edward Easterwood and twins Clarence Robert and Blanch.
