Bormann, 80, of Blossvale passed away at home on Friday, Oct. 5, 2012 with her loving family by her side. She was born Aug. 8, 1932 in Saugerties, N.Y., the daughter of Edward Alexander and Afton Wilson Smith. Nancy was a graduate of Oneida High School in 1950. She was married to Donald J. Bormann on Nov. 26, 1954 in Oneida, N.Y. Donald passed away in 1997. She was employed as a telephone operator with New York Telephone. Nancy later worked as a certified nurse's assistant at Rome Memorial Hospital for 15 years, retiring in 1994. She was a lifetime member of the Meeker-O'Rourke American Legion Auxiliary in Taberg. Nancy was an avid reader and was well known for baking chocolate fudge at Christmas time. Surviving are two daughters, Elaine B. and Willard Duncan of Clearwater, Fla. and Penny B. and Bruce Ackerman of Shreveport, La.; two sons, George M. and Beverly G. Bormann of Blossvale; brother, Edward H. and Mabel Smith of Blossvale; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Nancy was also predeceased by her son, David Bormann of Alaska, brother, Louis Smith and sister, Sally Miller. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Inc., 109 Main St., Camden. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Cornerstone Youth Ministries, P.O. Box 2, Camden, N.Y. 13316.
