ONEIDA - Conrad George Barron passed away peacefully, with his family at his side, on March 3, 2011.
Born in Lowville, Dec. 28, 1931, son of the late George and Anona Stimson Barron, he moved to Clark Mills at an early age. After graduating from Clinton Central School in 1950, he joined the US Air Force, serving in the military police and was honorably discharged in 1953. After being honorably discharged from the N.Y. Army National Guard in 1981, he drove a million accident free miles as an over the road owner-operator truck driver. After retiring in 1996, he drove for several local companies, including Frank Fera, Inc. In later years he enjoyed working at the Shamrock Golf Course in Oriskany and delivering flowers for his friends at the Clinton Florist.
On August 9, 1952, in St. Mary's Church in Clinton, he married the former Mary Joyce O'Brien.
He was a member of the Helmuth-Ingalls Post 232 in Franklin Springs; Teamster Local 182 and a member of the Shamrock Golf Course's Wednesday Night Men's Members League
Survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Joyce Barron; three sons, Brian and Debbie Ressegger Barron, Advance, N.C.; John and Laurie Ricklefs Barron, Sherrill, N.Y.; Timothy and Marsha Ruldoph Barron, Mooresville, N.C.; three daughters: Mary Ann Reed and Brad Pawlikowski, Oneida, N.Y.; Catherine and Mark Wojdyla, Sherrill, N.Y.; Linda and Bill Webb, Verona, N.Y.; one brother, Raymond and Bette Ann Barron, Westmoreland, N.Y.; one sister, Joan Green, Clinton, N.Y.; one brother and sister-in-law Joseph and Gilda O'Brien, Inverness, Fla.; 12 grandchildren, Chris Barron, Colleen (Barron) Jackson, Matt Barron, Jacob Barron, Sarah Barron, Jill Wojdyla, Shane Reed, Laura Wojdyla, Josh Webb, Jason Webb, Jett Tornatore, and Jade Tornatore ; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews; also very special friends, Dick Martin, Renee Mortis, P. K. Cullen, Robin, Bucky and John Eddy as well as his canine companion Hershey.
Special thanks to Dr. Capone and the staff at Tri-Valley Family Practice and Hospice Staff, especially Roseann, Georgia and Chet.
He was predeceased by brother-in-law "Pete" Green and son-in-law Archie Reed and special friend "Paulson."

Funeral Services will be held at Malecki Funeral Home, 464 Sherrill Road, Sherrill on Tuesday, March 8 at 11 a.m. Calling hours will be Monday, March 7 from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
