Beulah Cecile Coultas, 102, of Winchester passed away Tuesday afternoon (Feb. 21, 2006) at the Scott County Nursing Center. She was born September 24, 1903 in Oxville the daughter of Harvey and Edna Belle Moore Green. She married James I. Coultas December 24, 1925 in Jacksonville. He preceded her in death September 9, 1973.
Survivors include her son James R. (wife Mary Jane) Coultas of Winchester. 6 grandchildren Ellen (husband Jim) Kelleher, Julie Ann (husband Dale) Anderson, Sarah Ann Killebrew, Laura Lynn Eddinger, Kent Coultas, and Leslie (husband Matt) Maxwell, 8 great grandchildren, a sister Doris Scott of Winchester, and several nieces and nephews. Also preceding her was a daughter Sue Ann Killebrew and 3 sisters Margaret Hatfield, Glenna Murray (surviving husband Charles Murray of Normal) and Mildred Hatfield, and 2 brothers Clarence and Earl Green.
Mrs. Coultas graduated from Naples High School and received her teaching certificate from Illinois State in Normal. She taught at Franklin Elementary School in Jacksonville for several years. She was a member of the Winchester United Methodist Church for 85 years, a member of the Scott County Home Extension and she was an avid Bridge and Canasta player.
