Mr. Mason was born in Chelsea, Oklahoma to Robert Dale Mason and Rose Katherine Mason. He married Ruby Juanita Kennedy on Dec. 1, 1934. He worked at the Royal Theater in Ardmore, Okla. and retired after many years of service as a mechanic in the motor pool for Sheffied Steel in Houston. In his retirement he enjoyed working in the voluntary fire department at Lake Conroe and was a lake patrolman for the county on Lake Conroe. Later in his retirement he and his wife operated an antique business in Ardmore, Okla. He served briefly as a security guard for Memorial Hospital in Ardmore. He moved to Bangs in 1989 to be near his daughter and son-in-law. He was active in church, serving upon the building and grounds committee for many years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Brownwood.Lawrence was preceded in death by his wife in 2003; two brothers; and four sisters. He is survived by his daughter and her husband; two grandsons; three great-grandsons; many nieces, nephews; and friends in and on staff in the Twilight and Bangs Nursing Homes.
