John S. Hatter, aged 71 years died at the home of his son, Earl Hatter, 2216 Cochran St., Dallas, Saturday morning at 10:00 o'clock. Mr. Hatter was born in Kentucky and came to Texas fifty years ago and made his residence near Lancaster, later moving to Dallas. He was an old Confederate Soldier having fought all through the Civil War and participating in many of the famous battles. After the war he moved to Dallas with his family and followed the vocation of a carpenter, at which occupation he remained until a few years ago.

The decedent is survived by a wife and three sons, Vol and John Hatter of Temple and Earl hatter of Dallas, and one daughter Florence Hatter of San Angelo, TX.

The remains were brought to Lancaster for burial in Edgewood Cemetery, the service being attended by many old friends and neighbors.

He is survived by a nephew and niece, John and Miss Alice Hatter in Lancaster.
