Pickens County
Alabama, USA
Death: Jun. 7, 1959
Fort Bend County

Jenks Seymour Adams was born in Carrollton, Pickens Co. Alabama. He is the son of Robert Sanford Adams and Nancy Elizabeth Seymour.

He came to Richmond, Texas with his brothers James Joshua and Lewis Stone in the late 19th century. He married Ida Voss and they lived in a small brick house on Morton Street where the current City Hall Annex building is located. In the early 20th century the brothers opened "The Three Brothers Saloon" on Calhoun St. at the corner of N. Second St., however their wives, who were members of the Baptist Church, made them get out of it after a few years. After the saloon Jenks went on to run a soft drink bottling company and other businesses. It was said he was the brother who made all the money and kept it.

He is buried along with his wife Ida, her sister Emma Flanagan, and his brothers in Morton Cemetery, Richmond, Texas.
