Joel Enlisted in Wilkinson County Georgia with The locally Raised Confederate Army The 14th Regiment of Co. B on July 9, 1861. they were known as The Ramah Guards.
He had three Brothers who were also Confederates, along with many Cousins.
He was killed at The Battle of Seven Pines.
He was a son of Green Brewer and Sarah Bennett. He was named after his Grandfather Joel Brewer b. abt. 1780., and his Grand Mother was Elizabeth "Betsy". The Brewer family were some of the Pioneers of Wilkinson County.
