Birth: 1893
Death: Apr. 13, 1914

Gangster. Cirofici was a prominent member of Big Jack Zelig’s gang. He and three partners were recruited to murder New York gambler Herman Rosenthal at the behest of NYPD Lt. Charles Becker in July 1912. Cirofici and his partners were all arrested in the aftermath and charged with murder. The resulting trials revealed a tale of police corruption unheard of at the time, and it dominated American news for nearly two years. Convicted of murder, Frank Cirofici and his three partners went to the electric chair at Sing Sing Prison on April 13, 1914

"The dead should be sacred-in peace let him rest---Nor trample in scorn o'er the prayer hallowed sod;The green turf is holy that covers his breast;Give his faults to the past, leave his soul with his God."
